The biggest accomplishment of our year was finishing her Grand Champion Bronze at the age of 8. I was so proud of her. She’ll still take spins in the ring as a Veteran and Altered occasionally when we feel so inclined.
Vedder and I worked hard on our performance ring relationship this year and we’ve made some fabulous strides. I am really hoping that 2025 will be the year of conquering JWW 🤣
She got to play in the field and we started scent detection. She also enjoyed trying out hoopers too!
I’m certainly looking incredibly forward to playing new sports in 2025 with my sweet girl - I’ve always wanted to do scent but there’s only been so much time (and 💰).

Mako only competed in 2 days of rally this year (in April), but managed to finish #5 Weimaraner in Canada with the second highest average score! She was #1 Weimaraner in Ontario in Rally Obedience as well.
In addition she didn’t really show much this year but managed to be #2 Owner Handled Weimaraner in Ontario, #5 Owner Handled Weimaraner in Canada and #8 Weimaraner in Ontario based on breed points. We also ventured south of the border to her maturity and had an absolute blast both at the show with old and new friends, and on the vacation part with Dad exploring Graceland, Grand Ole Opry, and more.
I’m so excited with how much our agility teamwork has improved over the past year and I can’t wait to get out trialling more in 2025. She earned her first qualifying score in Jumps and Tunnels in April and her second in December (only trialled 3x for “real” in 2024).
In addition, I know we’re both looking forward to more field work.
We shall just have to see what other excitement 2025 might bring!
